Margazhi Tingal

Song : Margazhi Tingal
Singers : S. Janaki & Unnikrishnan
Movie : Sangamam
Music : A. R. Rahman

Most of you must be familiar with Murali Ram's voice by now. He is one of the many amazing talents whom I met thru this blogsphere. He sings any song with great ease and perfection. He has got a fantastic voice to top it up :)

Here is one semi-classical song that we have both attempted.
Thanks to Murali and his studio for mixing and providing effects.
Please do listen to this song at ur convenience:)

Wonderful, soulful singing Vidya.

Wondering whether you would be interested in doing a weekly show on our online radio. We are very keen on having Indians from different part of the world to share their perspective on the country they live. Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Hello Vidya,

My first time to your spot. Got routed from Dr. Murali Venkatraman's blog. Have listened to your "Pothi vecha" on his blog. You gotta wonderful range and excellent "Bhavam" as Dr. Venkatraman put it.

Awesome rendition of this song by you as everyone else has mentioned as well. Overall a great performance what very closely mimics the original. I have no musical knowledge of background. but if I may, I have a couple of very trivial suggestions.

Consider this line: "Ullankaiyil ozhugum neer pol, en uyirum karaivadhenna".

The end of "Karaivadhenna" seems too abrupt, especially the "dhenna" part. Also the "uyirum" gets lost into the oblivion.

Also a suggestion that is trivial still is, given your bhaavam in "Pothi vecha malligai mottu", the "sollaiyaa" in "vidai nee..... sollaiyaa" could be just a bit more bhaavam rich - really would bring out the emotions there.

Please don't consider this offensive. Just my 2 cents for whatever its worth.
